Liberta asked if I could devise some experiment to test whether I require assistive technology to work at my best. Despite the obvious difficulties with objectivity, I believe I have devised an adequate design to test the theory.
I shall attempt to work at my best without the assistive technology, but in the full knowledge that I may use it, at any time, for any reason, without shame or failure. I can assess how comfortable I feel without the assistance over time, followed by a similar assessment over time should I choose to use assistance.
I have not devised any numeric measurement for this, so would appreciate some thought on the matter and whether such a measure is both a) necessary and b) possible.

I’m a little nervous. I’m not going for perfect work to begin with, just acceptable, but the discomfort is there inside, waiting to distract me.
And distract me it has, although not in a way that would be distinguishable from my usual procrastination. I’ve done some basic computer housekeeping and need to reboot. That done, I want to write some code.
